According to the bible (Genesis), GOD never ever said man should be allowed to use or abuse animals. What He actually said was, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (Genesis 1,28)
 
What does it mean to rule? Doesn't “ruling” mean to take care of something, just like a king takes care of his people? A true king would never abuse or torture

Fear of Death
 
After watching a beautiful french wildlife documentary on the arctic circle called ‘The White Planet’ it became clear to me how, unlike most humans, animals are able to accept the circle of life and thus live more fully. Watching this mesmeric documentary I pondered the ills of human society and realised our fear of death was one, if not the major cause of our problems today.

Meaningless Lives
 
Recently I took out the DVD Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. The film, starring Keira Knightly, was wonderfully done and, as usual after watching a film I particularly like, I decided to browse the extras.
Listening to the excerpt on the everyday dynamics of the Bennett family, I was surprised but mainly troubled to hear the Bennett daughters described as having ‘meaningless lives’.
